For me I'd want my dogs to interact with dogs that I know because dogs are pack animals so its good for them to socialize with their own species, plus i want to know my dogs are good with other dogs in general in case they accidentally encounter another dog. I also like to take my dogs lots of places, and it's inevitable that they'll encounter other dogs. Better to have a dog that is used to other dogs generally than to have a dog that's not used to being around dogs and may not be reliable around them

That’s a good point. You can’t control other dogs.

Yeah definitely. I’d think SSA would have a genetic influence maybe, so that is probably a good think to keep in mind when looking at breeders. I think my breeders dogs all get along.

Oh boy yeah that would be a lot😅

And why would you want yours to? Unless someone just has a lot of dogs (like you do) I don’t see any reason why they need to. If I give my dog all the fulfillment it needs that’s good enough for me.

Yeah😕 I know there are plenty of people whose dobies are ok with other dogs of the same sex I just wouldn’t count on it.
Because they’re pack animals lol not that there’s anything wrong with your approach or anything. But I personally believe they are happier with a friend in the house or at least getting to play with friends regularly.

EXACTLY LOL JINX!

Exactly, the amount of times I've taken willow out with no intention of her socializing yet had random dogs and owners come up to me....I'm glad she's so good with other dogs and that I socialized and taught her how to behave around them.

Maybe so. I see your point I just don’t feel like they need it. But I am not 100% opposed to it. I agreed with pampstie earlier when she said play a bit but know to focus when you want them to. If they could play together without out it escalating to a fight and they know to knock it off when told I would probably let them do it. But stoping when told is training. I’ve can recall Chase out of mid play without issues. My only concern is that it would open their eyes and want to play constantly.

Usually they only do it if they have issues with digestion 😬 mine was susceptible to intestinal flu, my very first Euros were spent on my doberman cos she had caught a bug, again, whenever she had trouble, it turned bloody at once, so she always needed an antibiotic to fight it off 😧
Yeah, normally they eat grass to self-induce vomiting. This dog was just weird.

Plus especially as pups, they learn a lot of social cues and what's acceptable in life from playing with other dogs. Hence singleton syndrome.
Good point as well. Although Chase never played with any dog until he was at 3 and he is great with other dogs. But he is a golden😆

Is singleton syndrome a common thing? I haven’t heard of it before. I have heard of one litter puppies having issues socially though. Is that the same thing?
