Cass,

Sorry to hear you are not feeling well! I hope they figure it out soon and it's easily treatable.

Hang in there

dont put money on this. I have a flu(not the piggy flu. Yup was tested)
I have been tired, lymph node swollen, body aches. No vomiting.
Your doctor should be testing you for the flu virus. Doesnt take long.

Hmm..not mono huh? Dang..was hoping you'd have a diagnosis by now. Epstien-Barr is mono - its the virus that causes mono; it can lay dormant forever and never become active (meaning you're a carrier), *same with TB*. If you tested negative for the ImG antibody and the EBV antigen as a carrier, then you dont have mono/EBV.

Anyway - stiff neck, swollen lymphs, tired... do you have a headache? It could be Chronic Fatique Syndrome however given you just came down with it and it hasnt been a prolonged thing, chances are its not - but the diagnosis for CFS is a process of elimination and can take a while to get to as well. *I hope you dont have CFS, its awful*

Perhaps its time to get a spinal done and get tested for menegitis (dont freak out

it could be many other things) but spinal fluid tells ALOT. Did they do a SED rate on you, CBC? Did it show inflammation and infection?

Sending you many prayers for a diagnosis and speedy recovery. I'll put you on our prayer list.

I have a friend who has a mystery illness as well. She's been sick 3 months, cold like symptoms, swollen lymph nodes on neck you can see, tired all the time. Her mono test came back negative as well. They are running more test trying to figure out whats wrong.

My son has been sick 2 weeks. Took him to the doc because I thought for sure he had strep throat but the test was neg. He's still heavily congested and coughing/crouping. He's 16 and you know when your that age nothing keeps you down. The doc said he had a double virus, like two different strains and that it's gonna take a while to recoup.

Sorry your feeling icky and I hope you get better soon.

I am feeling a bit better today, thankfully. This doctor said she thinks the initial diagnosis of lymphangitis is probably the correct one (the swollen lymphnode means I am fighting off some sort of a virus). But just to be safe, I got poked in the arm for the second time this week. She didn't think to test for flu, but she is testing my white blood cell count this time. I assume for cancer or leukemia and that sort of stuff. And, unlike the first guy, she actually did prescribe some antibiotics for me.

Spinal tap... yikes. I've never had my back messed with.

I fear those sorts of tests. My MIL has lupus and has had a plethora of spinal surgeries for various reasons.

I think if I keep taking it easy (as best I can!), I'll slowly get over this. I'll keep CFS in mind if this feeling hangs around.

Sorry if I sound discombobulated at all. My body told me I needed to go to bed about 2 hours ago but I'm being stubborn and trying not to listen.

I have had about 6 spinal taps they where not to bad thou one leaked that was a nightmare I choose the caffeine treatment because they said the blood patch was very dangerous they have me an IV of caffeine and then told me to pump the caffeine drinks -first time in my life doctor told me to drink lots of coffee-
Having lupus myself my heart goes out to your MIL
I hope all your news form the doctor is good news and you are up and running soon
