Does anyone else kiss their hens?

I help run the poultry tent at our county fair. Last year there was a visitor who saw me picking up one of my hens, and she asked if she could hold her for a while. This lady did the same thing you described, and got tears in her eyes. She explained that she used to have chickens but not any more, and missed the nice way that they smelled.

Only, like....ALL OF THE TIME! Even though my RIR's are kinda mean!! I like to sneak up, grab 'em, give 'em some love, then place them down again before they're had time to figure it out!

I sneak up on them and kiss them on their soft backs when I tuck them in for the night.
They always murmur amongst themselves, like "there's Mommy again, just when I had all my feathers straightened out!"
