Does anyone else kiss their hens?

I kiss them on the top of their heads every night.

Maybe that's why they're still not laying eggs for me yet??????

I kiss them on their backs. I think I'd get my eye pecked out if I attempted a beak kiss!

Once, I snuck a kiss on my hen George right on the top of her comb, where it folds over. It was warm! Best kiss ever! I always want to kiss their chests when they are sitting fatly on their roosts before bed. Too dangerous! The best dangerous kiss is on a rooster's back, while he is protesting while being held. He gives angry, evil stink eye! Wants to peck! I kiss bad rooster back! Hee hee hee!

I help run the poultry tent at our county fair. Last year there was a visitor who saw me picking up one of my hens, and she asked if she could hold her for a while. This lady did the same thing you described, and got tears in her eyes. She explained that she used to have chickens but not any more, and missed the nice way that they smelled.

By the way, don't you all love to kiss fuzzy little baby chicks, and rub your cheeks on their fluffiness?

Oh, the babies, of course, must be kissed and snuggled, ALL the time! My girls used to snuggle into each other's feathers at night, when they were teenagers and slept together in a heap. I wondered what does that smell like, when you bury your nose under the other girl's feathers? I tried it....mmmmm, smells nice!

I like my goats much better than my chickens and I would not even dream of kissing them.
