Thank you. I just saw this post. Sweet Lucky seems to be in decline again. She seems weaker yet and less interested in chicken behavior. Poor baby. One of her sisters is also ballooning up pretty quickly. I thought this might happen once spring hormones started returning.

For those of you who have followed this thread, @Aunt Angus @azygous @Allsfairinloveandbugs @RoyalChick my sweet Lucky’s suffering has ended. She is now buried under the walnut tree that shades the chicken run.

I am not ready to do a full blown tribute, but Lucky was always a loving lap chicken, very talkative, and had great eye contact. I will miss her dearly.

Fly free lovely lady - you had a great long life and will always be fondly remembered.

Lucky was a chicken that squeezed the very last good drop out of her life. We salute her for knowing how to live.

The picture of her resting on your lap and looking directly at the camera touched me so deeply I literally teared up. Lucky is so beautiful in so many ways. She is a beautiful hen in appearance, and her sweet, intelligent soul shows in her eye. Thank you for sharing her life with us. I know the heavens are even brighter now that her spirit is flying high and free. Fly on, beautiful Lucky.
