Does my duckling hate me? lol
I’m starting to figure out that my, what I believe is a Rouen, duckling does not like to be handled. She/He used to lay on me just last week, but the more she grows the less she enjoys it. She’s/He’s also has been biting us when she’s/he’s obviously irritated, but has been more aggressive lately.
My Pekin on the other hand, doesn’t mind it as much. She/He will still dig her/his face into my arm and let me touch her/him a bit more. I read somewhere that ducks will feed off of each other, and if one is scared of you, or doesn’t like you, then the others will learn the same behavior. I’m worried that they’ll begin to not like me.
I also read somewhere that when they’re molting, they’re more irritated and it hurts them, don’t know if it’s true, but would explain the behavior.
On the bright side, they follow me everywhere I go, and cry when they can’t see me. So I know deep down they love me lol
