Dog attack - lost turkeys & ducks - Update pg 8

yea - she says she is getting rid of the dog.

Like that helps my problem now.
My poor cochins are sooo mad at me for not letting them out. They are used to free ranging during the day.

Hubby is going to have her served tomorrow. He can't do it b/c he is involved but his buddy can. We plan on fighting this. People don't need to be letting their dogs roam the neighborhood.

It's not bad enough that you have to deal with the loss and injury to your animals but now to ad insult you have to deal with a person like this. Hope it all works out.

Good luck. I dragged my neighbor's sorry butt into court and won. I had witnesses to the attack so that helped a lot. Did any of these people with the free roaming predator pets get dog-at-large tickets. Our locality has a one up on that called "dog at large doing damage" ticket.

Rawr! Someone has told this woman that you don't have proof that it was her dog that killed your birds. I wish you had a picture of it on your property. Perhaps it has gotten back to her that one dog has already been killed. Maybe since more than one person saw the dog on your property (meaning you and your husband) this will help in court. I am an attorney's assistant, and I can't tell you how easy this one will be to fight...but I don't have much experience in this legal area so I'm not going to say it isn't possible.

I wonder too about the Shepherd that was inside and dry. I'm wondering if it came home with blood on it and was immediately bathed and brought in?

All canines are suspect at this point.

At the very least, take comfort in the fact that you are taking action and getting some response. One dog is out of the picture. One dog will be given away and the other possible suspect is inside the house and the owner is aware that your birds have become victims. Hopefully soon you'll be able to let your flock range again with all of these dogs out of the picture.
