Taking my one of my three dogs in to the Vet's on Wednessday to get a skin scraping and I am suspecting some type of mite infestation. I'm not planning on shelling out oodles of cash to treat with Mitaban Dip (amitraz) at 50 dollars per 10 oz. With three 55-80 pound dogs to be treated that will run into the several 100s of dollars. We should already have them covered for sacrophytic mange as they get Heartguard+(generic monthly) and K9 Advantix every 2 months the Advantix is a therapeutic treatment and preventative for it.
My question is Prolate/Linatox-HD(for cattle/pigs) has been reported by several users to be inexpensive in treating their dogs safely and effectively. Others are reporting good success with Happy Jack Mange Medicine as well. Honestly, I am inclined to go with a lifetime supply of the Prolate/Linatox-HD for around 20 dollars. It isn't that I am cheap my vet is expensive as all get out and I am tired of spending $2-300 every other month or so on their maintenance.
Does anyone use and trust the generic Paramite dip?
