I'm very glad it it was helpful to you. I hope it can be helpful to others in the future as well. Thanks for the condolences. This was such a fascinating read. Good on you for documenting everything and taking lots of clear pictures -- this was really interesting.
Sorry that you lost your Smudge, though.![]()
They're not totally sure, but maybe Viral Testing maybe an idea. It either will confirm, or rule out one, or both viruses.![]()

I read through the bottom paragraph while it was uploading. Looks like you were right, it’s either LL or Mareks disease. I have to get additional testing to confirm I believe?

Sorry if its hard to read some words around the editing. I had to blur out my personal info.
The paperwork dose say "Work Pending" at the bottom, does that mean there is more information coming? Or?
Neither diagnosis is preferred, your very right. Lysol, I'll look into that. Thank you!Either or they both suck, sorry Weeg.
I wouldn't waste money on buying boot covers.
My can of Lysol keep it in your car spray your feet before you get in your car every single time.
The days that you plan to go to your friends house to change your clothes and your shoes before you leave your house.
You've already been to your friend's house right?
Have any more of your birds started acting sick?
I just briefly skimmed your report.
I'm going to go back and read it all ASAP .
This is a very helpful post, I may pursue the viral testing after all, or at least look into it. Your post was very helpful, and I would hate to assume its a viral disease if there is a chance it isn't. I appreciate the feedback, thanks again!Interesting thread along with the previous one, sorry for Smudge. But I think you should try to follow up and do the test for Marek's and the other virus they think it is so you know for sure.
They did not address the possibility of a toxin which can also possibly have that same effect on the liver. They just say these types of injuries are usually due to a virus, with no actual viral or toxic test results.
They also just guess the top two viral diseases, when a bacterial infection could also cause a swollen liver and those lesions. To me they have not ruled out a bacterial or toxin at all.
So is there anything else that may have been present im their water or sanitary conditions, outside animals present, etc. Also in your initial necropsy, i didnt see if you examined the intestines or digestive system. Hope you get the mareks test done!
I keep a can of Lysol in my car at all times.Neither diagnosis is preferred, your very right. Lysol, I'll look into that. Thank you!
I haven't been to anyones house since the incident, but I did have a friend at our property a few days before the incident, and before that as well.
I haven't seen any of the other birds showing symptoms.
