One of my chickens ate a bolt once. They all tried to get on the roosting pole and it came down, dropping the bolt on the ground too. I guess they thought it was shiny. I never found the bolt, that's why I assume they ate it XD

For me, it's barn mice (hand-butchered to their satisfaction, of course), moths, and DISH (dead-in-shell) chicks. They also love fingernails (???).

Two or three of my chickens ate a rubber band when they were younger... but they're perfectly fine to this day. And a few of them liked to get in my garden and pick the red tomatoes from the cherry tomato plants and had fun with those...that, however, was not humorous to me.

I often catch my little hunters snatching and eating snakes, dead vols, and a million other things they shouldn't. And they just go .

Mine LOVE ice-cream lol! I'm naughty to offer some off my cone.......but they love it!
Then i eat it after they peck it! yuck! I'm weird! lol

Sometimes I eat after my chickens if they have clean beaks.

So my cat caught a mouse but didn't kill she just tortured it by swatting it throwing it in the air and biting it not too long later my blind in one eye Ancona hen who for some reason likes to play with my cat came over to her excitedly and grabbed the mouse and ran away and swallowed it whole later she found another mouse and did the same. They also are professional frog hunters lol.

YES! The same happened to me...I was all good with it (circle of life...etc)...until one morning I find a dead chook with a mouse tail hanging out of her mouth. She choked on it trying to swallow it whole in a hurry I think, prob the other girls were trying to muscle in on tasty treats too! Sorry to put a negative slant on your luvly story...just I was quite shocked when it happened so something to keep an eye out for. xxx

Oh no! That’s terrible. I’m so sorry mice are invading my home, those beasts. They creep me out. Somehow they keep ending up in our basement, which is really freaky. Again, so sorry
