Have you heard of the chick-in-a-cup experiment? I’m thinking of making some sort of modification to that one
Still very early stages of planning though because it’s super complicated and you need expensive equipment like an oxygen concentrator and stuff, but I’m working on it!

And with that you can help the nutrient problem by adding extra albumen from a different egg

I believe the problem of twin embryos goes deeper than most think. It isn't simply a matter of space or nutrients, but also a matter of zygote diameter and the development of the amniotic sac and other features that develop during incubation.
I work at an equine clinic that specializes in reproduction and surgery. We have info on the fate of twin embryos.
From what I understand, not only is the chance of double ovulation low, but the positioning of embryos and subsequent development can go in so many directions.
Here is some info taken from my workplace. Yes, it is equine but embryos are embryos and the info can be used for eggs too.

Had no idea, that’s really interesting. I think that’s a little too deep for me to research though, cuz I don’t have the means to study embryos in that detail. Definitely something to think about for the future though. I was also thinking of adding a genetics component in the future because there must be a breed that is more likely to get twins, just like in humans some genetic lines are more likely to get twins.
Really loved seeing those pictures you shared, I’m definitely saving those!

OMG HELP I FORGOT TO TURN ONCE EARLIER AND NOW IM PANICKING CUZ IM SCARED I HURT THEM!!!!!

I don’t know how I could have forgotten but I did, this is the first time I’ve ever forgotten and I’m freaking out!!!!
I turned them just now instead of at 3 like I was supposed to and I added an extra turning late tonight to make sure I get to the uneven number, but did this hurt my babies?????????

Hun, I fogot to turn my eggs in 2 separate incubations for literally half the incubation in total. Chicks hatched just fine.

Day 27 of 35, tomorrow is the last candling and weighing day so yay! Glad I didn’t hurt them

I think the chick-in-a-cup experiment would be excellent in conjunction with the double yolker one! Would really be excited to see someone do this...

I believe the turning is most important when the embryos are in the earlier stages of incubation if im remembering correctly
