My 3.5 year old Olive Egger has had a small hard lump in her crop for a week. I took her to the vet yesterday and they believed it was dried food that was stuck in a portion of her crop. It was malleable and when you pushed on it, it would even stay in that shape for a bit (like putty does).
They pushed some water into her crop which loosened it up. We were hoping that would help her crop empty fully overnight. Unfortunately, she woke up with the same small hard lump.

I talked to the vet this morning, they said after she eats try feeling/massaging her crop. But she's not drinking enough water to help loosen the content.

She's in the middle of a hard molts and is a little lethargic and not eating or drinking much.

Any thoughts on what else I can do before taking her back to the vet?

Can you push more water and massage to loosen it? If it was dried food and you didn’t do anything to help move it out it probably just hardened again. Is she pooping right now? Is it normal looking?

Try a teaspoon of coconut oil with about ten minutes of massage.

Then give her a probiotic for the next few days to liven up her digestive track.

After the vet did a crop flush (adding water to her crop) we did massage a few times before bedtime.
I'm not comfortable putting a tube down her throat myself but am trying to give her bits of water (since she isn't drinking much if any on her own although she's eating mash) and massaging it through out the day.
Her poop actually looks decent. Maybe a little looser than normal.

Probiotics like yogurt?
I’ve done yogurt. Usually it’s easier to give it to them than anything else- just dip their beak if they don’t seem interested and they’ll start to take it.
