DS Assaulted At School!

Got a check in the mail from the court to cover the Dr. bill

Do not see this kids mother at the place where she was working. Wonder if she got fired or quit.
Apperantly the police chief tried to play on DH's sympathy by talking about this kids folks divorcing and all the trouble he has been going through. DH looked at him and said everybody goes through bad times and that is no excuse for sucker punching someone.

I doubt if he learned his lesson redhen. I just taught DS some dirty moves to protect himself.

A few months ago my son came home from school with his shirt torn open. he told me about another boy at school who grabbed his shirt and ripped it because he didnt like my son. Well we called the principal and talked to him, who in turn called the other kids parents. In the end, the parents had to cough up money to buy a new shirt for my son. Nothing like a little money lost to open a parents eyes. They boy never bothered my son again.

I DO NOT BELIEVE THIS!

I got a call at work on my cell phone but could not answer it. Then my boss comes up and tells me I have a phone call.
I take the call and it is the super from the school. DS got into another altercation with a different kid! DS was given in school suspension and suspended for 4 days. OK i agree with that until more information has come out about this other kid.
What DS did was he pulled his pocket knife out of his pocket, never opened the blade, when this kid came up making punching motions in DS face.

Turns out this was the kid DS chased off of our place this fall. Kid was hunting without permission and trespassing. He has chased DS in his truck around town. Last time he tried to block DS in a parking lot and sat in his truck making punching motions with his hands.

This kid grabbed DS by the throat so hard he still has welts on his neck 8 hours later!

I know DS should not have had the pocket knife on him at school, but I also believe this other kid should have just left him alone.

Chasing someone with a vehicle is assault, grabbing someone by the throat is definitely assault. Any time these occurrences happen, they need to be documented.

If your child feels physically threatened, then it stands to reason that police action is in order. Make frequent complaints to the police station. Ask for an officer to make an official report.

Each time you contact the police, be civil and polite, level headed and calm, and WRITE DOWN every time you call, date/time.

If the police do nothing, dont worry about it, the more you have contact with the police, they will know who you are and see you as the party who is acting in defense rather than in offence.

If something were to actually happen, then you have a better case than a random one time event. If the case goes before a judge it will really look bad for the offendee. Most important, your son needs to understand that he CANNOT under any circumstances EVER use a weapon for defense. Not a stick, a rock, a blade, mace spray or a gun. This will look very bad if he uses it.

((And personally, next time the kid chases him around town with the truck, have your son get up to speed, let the guy get on his tail, and slam on the breaks. When the bully rear ends your son with his precious truck, what a mess the bully will be in when his insurance denies payment for the accident!! If the insurance company asks your son why he hit the breaks, say a cat ran out in front of him!))

Thanks Reurra.

DS is being punished by us for even carrying that pocket knife to school. Found out that 95% of the boys in school are packing a pocket knife as defense against this bully!
I will talk to both the sheriffs office and police chief. Going to make a report too. If the welt is still on his neck this morning I will get a picture of it. I should have taken a picture last night.
Will tell him about break checking this punk.

Things are pretty touchy right now concerning knives there was a stabbing in a bar Saturday that resulted in a death, so that is why the super suspended DS.

I don't know that the braking idea is such good advice. A friend of ours did just that because some guy was tailgating him. He said he was avoiding a dog, but the judge suspected what really happened and our friend had to pay for damages to both cars and got a reckless driving charge on top of everything. If this really went to court and both kids past history came out, your son may be in trouble. I agree with reporting the other kid's bad behavior and all of the actions you have taken with your son. But, I caution that two wrongs don't make a right.
