Based on my 2 d'uccles laying and my Satins laying I'd say the lighter egg is d'uccles and darker is Silkie.
Congrats on new layer!
This frigid weather is making it difficult to egg hunt before they freeze!

It is so inconvenient! We get so few eggs that I can’t afford to lose any to the temps. Luckily I’m able to check several times a day, but stilllllllllll

Ugh... i had so many eggs, and was still getting 3-4 per day (with only me to eat them). Can you believe the day i gave away 24, they decided to stop laying now i get one every other day from Elsa, my bantam cochin. Ugh.

I do not need to incubate all the eggs… I do not need to incubate all the eggs…. A second new layer??? A touch bigger and creamier. Silkie, D’Uccle, Brahma, and barred something (Rock??? OEGB???) mixed bantam pen

The Squeaky Wheel Twins have suddenly started roosting in the main laying pen I move them back to Bantyland after I put the babies to bed (dog crate in coop), but maybe they’d rather stay there? It gives me so much anxiety to leave them with such big dominant birds…

They’ll do great with bigger birds! I’ve got mine with standard chickens and they seem to be more dominant than the big hens!

I might have to give it a try! It’s possibly a comfier option for them. They started in a prefab coop and I was hoping that the number of bodies would keep them warm (the silkies love it since they won’t roost), but a Bielefelder decided to move in and it’s a bit squished

All my flock are bantams...my 3 d'uccles all crawl up underneath my Satins at bedtime....then wonder why they get pooped on!
Mine can be fiesty...but I feel for them whenever mating cause they are so tiny just to my other bantams!

I remember the floppy comb comment and i knew what you were in store for! But yes, they are so loving, you just get past it. Merry Christmas

Hey can't remember if I've asked yall this before or not...but do yalls d'uccles act like they are starving ALL the time!?
I mean they are so aggressive with food, treats etc! The others cannot even get a bite unless I put them up - especially at treat time!
