D'uccle Thread

Thanks guys. No one will be free ranging with out Mama guarding them. He wasn't my best roo, but had a really good tail. I still have Napoleon and Duke, but Duke is the one who took the worst part of the flood. I gave a friend eggs and she hatched out 3 roos and 7 pullets. I wasn't going to keep any of them, but I may keep a pair or trio now.

Tommy

Max

Both 9 months old. Max has more white on his breast, but neither would give me a frontal shot. personality wise, Tommy is docile, Max is not. he flogs every person who enters his domain. it's like being hit with a cotton swab... but still... he is even tempered with other chickens, hen or roo... so I just warn guests to beware. he doesn't pull it on me anymore...
both of them have a bit of frostbite... I was flipping when I saw it. there's no moisture. anywhere. no bad drafts either, but it was so so cold. this thaw was good, I was able to do some work on making it warmer inside. my Dutch Heritage and OEG Bantams are having trouble too. darn those tall combs!

put something on the frostbite that has mint or camphor in it, to make it tingle and the blood flow. Maybe you will get lucky and it'll heal, it don't look black.

In a pinch chapstick works, but i think bag balm or something along that line with the camphor would work.
