Today I gave her a shower and she seemed to like it. She's drinking clear water and some water with Layena chicken food dissolved in it. The bottom beak is not as bad as I thought. The top beak is bad with bits sticking out. She does not get up or even try though. Is that normal?[/URL]![]()
I bet that was funny to watch. Glad your goose lived. I was concerned at having to rub anything on her bill it looks so fragile right now that is why I recommended Veterycin. When I was a kid something similar happened to one of our geese. The vet recommended eating the goose. I had hysterics (it was my favorite goose and still is) so my mom applied neosporin three times a day. The goose lived and spent his life following me around . . and attacking my mother on sight.Great times, loved watching my mom run and scream.![]()
Good luck with your duck. I hope she improves.
Do you think they should do a round of antibiotics at this point or just keep an eye on it? And if antibiotics should be given which one? Thanks. It doesn't look as bad as I imagined, so I think as long as you keep it from letting infected you'll be fine. Do as Miss Lydia suggested and check every square inch for other wounds.

Before you buy antibiotic reread what @casportpony just postedI have a antibiotic LA-200 but I think you have to administer it by shot. We used it for my daughter's 4H goats and lambs. But I can check to see if I can find some at the feed or pet store to put in the water. Thank you so much for all your advice.
