I am seeing some very odd things on here with links since the upgrade. It’s very hard to distinguish from what is a link and what is the actual content.

Is anyone else having these crazy looking links?

Not a big fan of so. In fact could be a huge dealbreaker with me.

This is what I see

Nope nope nope - I absolutely detest it.

Make it go away….. 😡😡😡😡

Names? I get a kick out of Muriel 🙂

I thought if I ever got another trio of pullets I'd name them nostalgic Maudie, Mabel, & Muriel.

1st heard Muriel in this movie ~ Myrna Loy as "Muriel"
"Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House"
I love the name Muriel!

Yeah, it’s really terrible - incredibly distracting, to me anyway. 😡

Up, Up, and To Sleep

Tilly found the roost tonight!

While Niamh and I had a battle of wills. 3 times she tried to roost in the grapevines. The first time I put her on the ground and she went around the other side of the coop and climbed back up into the grapevines again. I let her mess around for a while and then I removed her and put her into the Cluckle Hut.

Out she came again. This time when she got onto the main coop roof I stopped her with a firm NO!. I pointed the other way and told her, "Go To Bed". This is a phrase I have used every time I have directed her to the coop from day 1. This time she turned around and went to bed in the Cluckle Hut like she is supposed to.

She knows what I want her to do, she just wants to sleep where she wants. She is a sweet girl.

Iirc there's a box that admins can untick in the site settings to make it go back to how it was, it's labelled something like 'convert internal URL to embed'. Raise it in feedback and see if enough other people agree to get them to change it back?

It's a new feature that's bloody terrible. Make a post complaining about it. You'll have supporters.

Hi Kelly. I agree Bridie is a cute name!

My girl is Bridge. It’s short for Bridgette. When Little Mill died, a couple of younger hens started attacking Bridge and I had to separate them. Then I had to nurse her back to health. She seems great now, but I still have to keep them separate. Flash, who was one of the ones attacking her, also died, but Flo would still like to get her.

Unfortunately, today Minnie Minnie is not feeling well. I got to them late this morning since I slept in and found her in the box and weak. She tells to be anorexic, so I tube fed her which I do occasionally. Unfortunately, she seemed to continue to the climb, so I started going into more crisis mode. She is sitting on a heating pad on the low setting in the kitchen with an area heater on. I placed a cup of water in front of her and she started drinking and drinking and drinking. She eventually got up and drank some more. But then she sat back down and I put her back on the heating pad.

I know better. I know that the first step is warmth and then hydration and then nutrition. But since she’s got this anorexic thing, I jumped straight to nutrition. Oops. I hope these measures will help. She seems slightly perkier, but still weak.

Oh I am sorry to hear this about your lovely ladies. Time does not stand still does it? I sure hope Minnie Minnie improves, I lost Twister this week - she went downhill so fast, I am sure it was likely a tumor or such - she had been 'off' all summer.

I was worried about her sister but this morning she seems well, and has been eating up a storm all day. I guess the best we can do is try to keep them happy and healthy. Who knew chickens could be so much stress at times.

Please let me know how your lady does.
