My son found this egg on the sidewalk at our city park. We wanted to give it a chance, so we incubated it.
It seemed to have been developing appropriately—based on what I read online.
However, today is either day 30 or 31 and it stopped moving as much. From what I could tell, there was no “internal pip”. It was difficult to see since I’ve had it on lockdown since day 26 and didn’t want to take it out to candle it.

Anyways, I read up on assisting the hatch, and tried to do so. I’m not even sure what I’m looking at and have no idea where to go from here.

We’re not even 100% sure it’s a duck egg, but I’ve kept temp and humidity levels as if it were a duck egg.

Did your’s survive? I assisted with mine as I was instructed on a fb group due to it being past its “due date” and seemed like it was having trouble, but it passed away. Was told to make the air hole in center of air sac or he would suffocate and that it wouldn’t hurt it, somehow his yolk sac busted a few minutes later. I’m heartbroken. 💔 he was a beautiful solid gray duckling.
