I’ve never seen my poultry over indulging in oyster shell. I keep it out all the time. I just put it in a separate container from feed a they use it as needed.

Plus how do we know if our birds are needing something extra? Egg shell are one way. I keep out oyster shell year round since I have some that lay year round they only use the oyster shell when they need it.

Thanks Sumi I know this is chicken article but poultry is poultry. Any idea how much calcium is too much and how they would get it? @sumi talking about oyster shell and wondering if anyone’s poultry has over eaten it. Mine haven’t.

Strange...so maybe peas are a no?

It is probably just end of the season, as others have said, but it won’t hurt them to stop the peas for a week or two and see if it helps.
