Do you own the mama duck? Is she a young layer? There's a higher chance of double yolks in young layers to my knowledge. Also, if she just started laying again a double yolk is possible.

It is possible to have twins in one egg However, they often run into problems and don't make it to hatch, and if they do make it to hatch, often need to be assisted.

Good to know. I hope they do make it considering my other eggs have no embryo. How do I assist them? How will I know if they need help?
