Any fighting going on?

None, the other drake is a mallard, much smaller, they live with a kahki Campbell hen. The only fighting I’ve seen between them is Marco (patient) goes after Polo (mallard) is if another drake is outside their pen, which hasn’t happened in over a week.

No, don't do that, just open his beak and insert the pill. Trust me. it does not hurt them. If you do not give them orally there is a very good chance he could get worse.

It's a liquid, with an oral syringe. He clamps up and won't open his mouth. Is there a way to get him to open up, and say ahhh?

Thank you for asking! Marco seems to be doing better. His eye is less goopy, and he seems like he feels better. Today I put him in his tub and he cleaned himself up. I released him from quarantine, he’s definitely happier being back with his pals. Giving him his meds are another story. He’s not too happy with me. Fortunately, being visually impaired he’s easy to catch, but he is feisty! The vet says he may loose the eye, and that this may be a result of whatever caused his blindness in the first place. We’re hoping for a quick recovery!

Awesome, it sounds like he is on the up swing! You are awesome as always! I feel your pain, ducks are hard to medicate. I'm sorry about potential loss of the eye but I will keep him in my thoughts. Maybe he will surprise everyone and heal just fine.

Oh they do. Fortunately my neighbors know he’s sick, so seeing me straddle and manhandle my duck won’t cause any alarm!
