Duck Hatch-A-Long ~ Wanna Join?

I wanna join please! :D One of my friends is dropping off some Pekin duck eggs at the post office this evening for me. I can't wait to go get them already! I lost my last Muscovy hen a few weeks ago (had her for 6 years) and figured it was time to rebuild my flock. I've hatched lots of chickens and just tried geese, but lost all the babies. I had always let my Muscovy hen set and hatch her own eggs, so this is my first time actually incubating them myself. I'm super excited!

DutchChick ~ That is so sad about your little Call egg! Ugh!! I hope you get some to hatch under your broodies! ~ Aspen

I have 9 out of the 2nd batch growing in the bator, and just added 18 more last night. I only have one little broodie right now and she can only sit 5. Surely I will get babies out of all this!

I wanna join please!

Hello! Welcome! Sorry to hear about your Muscovy hen,

Do you mean you lost your geese during incubation? Hopefully the Pekins will do better for you.

I am officially in lockdown with 5 eggs out of my original 9! I have one that is already rocking too! I can't wait to see what colors hatch, it's a surprise!

Yes, I had 34 eggs from my own flock, only 7 developed, and then none hatched. I hope they do also!

Oh wow....were the others clear, like they weren't fertile? I let my Sebs hatch their own...they do better than I do, as I hate having to turn them all the time.
