That's an interesting ratio, with 1 male to six females being common here. However, it looks as though you research everything, so I'd love to know your thinking about the gender ratio.the pics below are what we want for the first step- with the first goal of 20 to 30 eggs daily so we need 30 to 40 females and 20 males for breeding- the idea is to separate the laying PATAS in groups as soon as they start laying
Anyone want to come help?- stay free!!!!

It is actually the stand up shower in our spare bathroom. I can't believe I didn't think of using it before!Awww how sweet. What a nice spacious brooder!

The fence in the picture is good too. It looks like it is electric pooultry net from Premier One. That is what I have been using since the last fox attack and I haven't had another one so far.View attachment 1929838 View attachment 1929839
We buy pellets from the local grain mill- AG store- $12 for a 55/lbs bag- but the plan is to pasture raise the hens in groups of 50 to 100- and we plan to offer pest management to local orchards and vineyards.
the pics below are example of the mobile shelters we want-
I know. It's all about what the burds look like with their round bodies and webs. They are so silly.Gotta love 'em Julie they are so funny!

Precious pancake burbs enjoying the sun.
Eek. Scary and I'm glad the little precious one showed up.Good morning! We had a hawk visitor this morning and I just knew my last little OEGB was gone I walked all over their property including out of it since she goes over the fence. Finally after an hour and giving up she appeared. She’s so tiny I have no idea where she was hiding I just know after losing her sister a couple weeks ago I am relieved she’s okay. Everyone was terrified.
