I read that people use to pluck geese while they were living to make down comforters and pillows.

I'd need to know more about that to decide whether it was a good idea or not. If it feels like pulling a handful of hairs out of your head, I wouldn't be a fan. However, if they don't mind a bit, it would be awfully convenient!

Back when people made their coverings and clothing by hand they kept geese and ducks for their feathers and their meat. I bet you can find some info on line about it.

I'm a happy mamma to 46 perfect, beloved ducks!
24 Muscovies and 22 Khaki Campbells!
I love my ducks like CRAZY!
Seriously, I love my ducks like you can't even imagine!

I currently have:

• 3 black Muscovy drakes and 1 duck.

• A pair of white muscovies.

• A pair of Mallard coloured Aussie Call ducks.

• 3 natural Mallard drakes, 4 natural Mallard ducks and a white mallard duck.

• 2 Indian runner drakes and a duck.

• 2 hybrid drakes.

• 1 crossbred duck

• And 4 Cayuga ducklings

So that’s around 24 ducks. I also have a pair of Brown Chinese geese. All my birds in total (Ducks, Geese and Pigeons) is around 46.
