Beautiful! Here is a nest full of eggs that my Muscovies secretly tried to hatch when I stopped letting them hatch more eggs this year.

I tell ya those Muscovy females can really hide those eggs. This week when cleaning I saw one when I was fluffy the bedding and I swear I looked all through that bedding could not find that egg, well next morning my MDuck was sitting on it an one she laid that morning. She had no trouble finding that egg.

Muscovies are sneaky and great at hiding their eggs!

Don't the ducks try flying away for the winter? That's one of my mane concerns when getting ducks.

Not domestic ones they don’t have the migration urge in them like wild ducks do. That doesn’t mean those that can fly won’t though. It just means they won’t migrate over winter. Many an owner has lost ducks that fly from taking off an not being able to find their way home. Or a predator got them.

I have Muscovy ducks that fly real well I clip their wing in late fall after their big molt it keep them safe inside their fencing around their property.
