My drakes came out of their late summer molt with some very rich color. They also are pretty plump from free ranging year round and eating all the fish , frogs and anything else they can find in the pond.

That’s Harley, a 10 year old Lab Mix we are fostering for Lab Rescue of Florida. Unlike my boy Winnie (on right) he doesn’t do water. Just likes to escort the ducks up to the edge of pond. Winnie likes to swim with them and eat their food of course - but neither chase or otherwise terrorize my ducks.

so they need more training then....
 
I just started my own duck journey less than 6 months ago! It started with one 'little' Jumbo Pekin duckling named Milo. Now my husband and I have plans to start a large duck farm by the spring, for eggs and just because I love ducks so much!:love
