Hey, I had to bring my duck to the vet for bumble foot. She’s around a year old. My vet put her on Clindamycin oral drops, but then he recommended she not get her foot wet. She has two bottle full of the meds to take so itll be a few weeks before she’ll be done, and I feel like her not being able to swim will stress her out a lot seeing as its very hot in Louisiana and she cools off in her pool.
Is there anything y’all recommend? Or any type of waterproof shoe I can get her so she’s still able swim ? Thanks so much.

I think by 'not get her foot wet' he meant 'don't let her in the water.' By letting her swim, not only will the bacterial infection get worse, but it's actually very painful! Imagine you have a huge foot infection, and are told to go outside for a run. It's similar to that. So by letting her swim around, you might actually be causing MORE stress to the poor dear, and worsen the bumble foot. If you're worried about her overheating, maybe you can move her inside for a bit?
