Duck pipped at wrong end of egg

Hey everyone! I am new here, but this is my first time hatching eggs and BYC has literally been my saviour during this time.

I currently have 11 duck eggs (5 runners, and 6 Cayuga) in the incubator. Only one of them has externally pipped as of now, and of course it’s on the wrong end of the egg. I’m concerned because I can’t see a hole in the internal membrane. The pip happened overnight, so I have no way of saying for sure how long it’s been, but at least 4 hours since we noticed it. I can hear chirping and can see the duck wiggling in the membrane. I don’t know whether I should make a small air hole in the internal membrane or not.
Thanks!!

Welcome to BYC!!
I don't know a lot about this but here is what I've found
If they pip, (that is important, to show they are finished and ready to hatch,) their head is in the pointy end and they are wedged in so they can't turn to break the shell all around. I chip just a little at a time. If there is ANY bleeding, you must pull the wet inner membrane, down tight against the shell.
Maybe @Isaac 0 or @Miss Lydia can help

Yeah, you'll probably want to open the membrane so the duckling can breathe, please read this.

Hi Issac, thanks for your help! I’ve read over the entire article, along with several others and feel like I am prepared to help. I am also wondering if it’s normal that only one duck has externally pipped so far out of 11 total eggs? Hatch day isn’t until tomorrow but they seemed to be progressing quicker and were super wiggly when we turned them, so we put them into lockdown a day early.

Thanks for your help! You rock :) I’ve been frantically researching this all day and couldn’t quite seem to find the exact answer I was looking for haha

Now the waiting begins. Be very patient. You maybe hours to 3 days away from ducklings. I had one pip and not hatch for 56 hours. One of its nest mates went pip to hatch in 6 hours. Just wait and wait. Ducklings drive me crazy.
