I have no idea, sorry your going through this. I don't know many people, but maybe @FoodFreedomNow could help you (I saw them help someone who had a similar issue)Should I tie off the "bulge"?? When i push on it yolk started to leak into another part and drains out!!! But the openin at the belly is already only the ssize of a pea!?!?
I would separate him immedialty. If it isn't bleeding then he can still absorb it on his own. Make him a separate brooder box, or place a bowl with paper towel bedding in the bator. Place him in that bowl. He should absorb the yolk sack on his own.Should I tie off the "bulge"?? When i push on it yolk started to leak into another part and drains out!!! Thank you for ur reply....he is of course alone and the majority of the yolk broke....shes eating the mash i have in a very small dish by her and has started moving around alot...i just checked on the spot and sprayed it with vetracin again snd applied more ointment...the opening from belly to bulge is even smaller nowI would separate him immedialty. DONT tie anything up, you could cause more damage.
If its getting smaller thats a great sign! That means she's absorbing it. What bedding are you using? I would keep her on puppy pads, since A) shavings or other material may irritate the yolk sack, and B) young birds will try to eat shavings, and are wobbly at first.Thank you for ur reply....he is of course alone and the majority of the yolk broke....shes eating the mash i have in a very small dish by her and has started moving around alot...i just checked on the spot and sprayed it with vetracin again snd applied more ointment...the opening from belly to bulge is even smaller nowso im hoping it will close....do u think the remaining stuff will just dry up and fall off??
It is even smaller now!!! and the sac is now looking like its drying up....is that a possibility...that the opening would close and the left over sac will just dry up and fall off??? Also i agree with the shavings....i never use them for my babies only peepee pads but right now shes actually on papertowel in the incubator...alone....whenever i take her out to respray and apply ointment i switch the papertowel out with new stuff.....trying to keep things as clean as possible! If its getting smaller thats a great sign! Yep! The yolk sack is usually absorbed in the egg, so this little one was just a bit to excited to get out. Absorption is completely normal, and I think thats exactly what is going to happen. It is even smaller now!!! and the sac is now looking like its drying up....is that a possibility...that the opening would close and the left over sac will just dry up and fall off??? Right i agree. I have had a few that ive watched absorb there yolks out of the shell....but this one was different there is a different kinds bulge... and im qlmost positive that there will be left over something and that it wont all absorb and close up like it usually does....i think its gunna close i just think there will be stuff left to dry out....like i said this was a really weird experience like no other ive ever encountered which is what worried me....im just so glad it looks like its almost closed....do u think she still has a chance..i just worry about infection....i figure if she makes it to the weekend then i can be hopeful that there is no infection??Yep! And thank you for replying! Sometimes its helpful and almost comforting to just talk things out when things get crazy and your not 100% certain of a solution!Right i agree.
