Indoor as inside the pole Barn when they belong in their coops. BUT the roosters are too stupid to sit in the coop, They prefer to act all manly and sit on the outdoor roost. Idiots!

Friend of mine called her vet... Foot is def dead, amputation services available.... For about $300.

Going to hope it falls off normally, keeping everything very clean....

I know what you mean, I have 3 indoor roosters because of frostbite. I have another rooster I have to take out of the breeding rotation because the idiot hurt his knee....How does a rooster hurt is knee in a 4x8 cage with a low roost 8 inches off the floor?

Idiot bird! Screwed up my hatching because he is a Klutz! I will be glad when the warmer weather hits here next week, just to give them a chance to heal a tad.

Good Luck!

Sorry about your boys! As serious as that is, I cant help laughing over the concept of 'rooster knees'. I always thought of them as having more of an elbow... excuse me while I go look up chicken anatomy.

I am sorry that you are going through all this Banti, just remember that it is not your fault.

Hoping it takes care of itself.

Chrissy's having an epsom salt soak right now, in a nice low tub where she can't get into trouble.
