duckling leg problem??

You are on the right track. I gave vitamins and kept giving mine the 'starter pellets' sprinkled on diced cucumbers, shredded lettuce, etc. She is up and walking with a limp but strong! She sometimes puts the left foot over the right foot so I am trying to make or purchase a duck hobble to keep the legs apart. Found out that some of the starter feed does not have the correct nutrients and vitamins. And this causes the problems with walking for a lot of ducks! Anybody: How do a make a duck hobble???
What your probably seeing in your duck is a deficiency in niacin. Not sure if a hobble will work but maybe worth a try.

Here is info on niacin deficiency http://metzerfarms.blogspot.com/2018/01/niacin-

If you are unable to get all flock or duck food, chicken food will work. If you are unable to get this, there are other grains you can purchase to mix in with your corn to give the ducks a more rounded diet. For instance oats are good for ducks and you can often get a 50lb bag at the feed store for about $10 or you can get oats at the human grocery store (just the price isn't as good). If you are feeding veggies, peas are good for them, you could even buy a big bag of dried peas (soup section of the grocery store) and soak them and feed them to the ducks. Nutritional yeast or brewers' yeast can be found at the human grocery store as well. I'm not sure what you have access to in your location. Swim time can help ducklings with a weak leg. It is easier for them than standing. Put them in warm water that would be about up to their bellies when standing so they can stand or swim in it at least once a day. You will be able to tell when they are tired and need to get out and dry off.

Check out the duck section here. There is lots of good info.

Good luck with your little one. You will get lots of good ideas from people on here. One of my ducklings was having some leg troubles too and is doing much better thanks to all the advice I received from others. I hope your little one gets stronger and can live a normal life with you!

For like 3-4 days they don’t wanna swim. They enjoyed water so much and now they just wanna get out of it. I’m gonna try with warm water.
And I’ll buy them other seeds and stuff. Thank you so much!!

Also, the duckling seems fine and when it tries to walk, it’s always shaking. Maybe because of pain?
