Duckling not pooping

One of my ducklings hatched 3 days ago, she did have sticky egg. Yesterday I noticed her eyes were sealed closed. I went to get terramycin for her eyes. I was told it could be a respiratory infection. I did hear some popping sounds while holding her. I came home applied the meds to her eyes, which has corrected that problem. Removed her from the other babies. Noticed her belly seemed swollen. She doesn't seem to be eating, drinking & definitely not pooping. I am feeding starter mash with added brewers yeast & garlic. Giving water with added probotics & electrolytes. Today I Injected her with .25 cc of tylan 50. Gave her a few warm baths today, massaged her vent. A only small amount of poop came out, no evidence of any other poop. She doesn't seem weak or lethargic. But I'm very worried.

Ok she is sleeping right now, worn out from the bath. I'll post it when she gets up again. But there's no discharge or anything in that area.

It must not be pastey butt. Does she have water to dip her nares in to clear them out? Is she drinking water regularly?

she has water but doesn't seem to be drinking. She did take a couple of sips in the bath today.

I've heard apple cider can get a duckling or chick to poop. @aart @junebuggena any input?

It makes sense that since she's not eating, she's not pooping. Try wetting the feed to a gruel/porridge consistency. It will be easier for her to swallow than plain feed. Dip her beak in it to encourage her to eat some.

Good advice. Dip her beak in her water dish too to show her where it is. Mash feed should always be wettened too.

Sticky hatching gunk can seal eyes shut,
just need water to clean that off so eyes can open.
Make sure you can see the vent.
Is her umbilicus infected...is that why you injected the tylan?

Warm baths are a good idea as long as she is active enough. She will clean all the goo from the sticky hatch and hopefully the exercise will encourage her to eat and poop.
(Just be sure to dry her really well when you get her out, and don't let her get too waterlogged.)
