Rest in peace my lil fellow, trying to separate my drakes from hens, drake's where getting really rough with queen, after a couple of days, I couldn't get my drakes back on the pin, something got him. I can't find him anywhere. Now my lil eggs have got to hatch. Im sure he fertilized one or more of them. I hope he lives on with these babies. :hit

Sorry for your loss :hugs

It had come to my attention a few days ago that having six ducks in a tiny brooder (

that’s half the size of that brooder in that photo) would not work. So, did some shopping at Walmart and TSC and discovered new possibilities for a brooder. Introducing: the duck-a-brooder!
It is 30 x 36, the bottom can be scooted off for easy cleaning. What the water is sitting on is a container with holes on the top for drainage. Huey (the yellow guy) is peacefully napping. I have a PVC pipe for the stand for the wet bulb. I put on sides of plastic on the sides of the brooder to prevent being strangled(stuck in with the brooder). How do you guys like it? Oh, and, Smokey is 3 weeks old and the 3 others (Olive, Louie, and Daffy) are 2 weeks. Will Huey (hatched today) be okay with them?
Thanks guys!
Opinions wanted.

Huey May get trampled accidentally I would wait at least a week before putting him in with the older ones or divide your new brooder so they can all see each other but Huey is trampled.
That’s a low chance of happening right? They all just snuggled up together like they are bests friends. Now Huey is sleeping by herself.

Huey is passed out!
