ducklings leg is hurt

Hi, so i was trying to pick up my duckling today and it was squirming a bit and felt its leg click in a weird way i putitdown and it couldnt walk on it or put pressure on it. The other day it fell on its leg as well and was limping for a couple days but quickly gotover it. i was wondering if this might be part of the injury or it has maybe sprined broke or dislocated it?? It is three weeks and 2 days old by the way - thanks

Sounds possibly dislocated, or just sore and it got strained when it tried to squirm. I would check for swelling and just keep an eye on it, making sure it eats and drinks. I'd also try some minimal exercise/PT by holding the duckling in some water and letting it try to paddle its feet, if only to keep the other leg from atrophy. Try warm Epsom salt soaks and keep it confined for a few days. Be careful that it doesn't drink the water. Epsom salts orally work as a laxative. Good luck. Keep us posted.
