This is a picture of my wood duck, Kevin Potawatomi and his mate.

Kevin on his scale... he is 1.5 lbs!!

And him swimming, honestly, he never looks this grumpy lol!

Wow that is the most beautiful duck I have ever seen! Is that a muscovy he is standing by him in the first picture? He looks tiny compared to it. I have always wanted a wood duck or manderin! Do you have any wood duck hens? He is a beautiful boy!

Thank you! Yes that’s a Muscovy! No, I don’t have any wood duck hens. He was the only one who made it.. all 9 of the other wood ducks didn’t.

Thats sad the other ducks did not make it. Are you going to get more hens ever? They are beautiful ducks. I would love to have some but I already have hookbills and a few other breeds whats your faverite breed of duck?

I'm sorry to hear about your duck's bill.

My duck got a similar bill injury and we took her to an avian vet. They weren't very concerned. They wanted me to put antibiotic cream (like Neosporin without pain reliever), just a thin layer on the wound twice daily for about 3 weeks. They told me to keep it clean, and change her water and clean her bowls/buckets frequently.

My duck healed slowly, but when I brought her in for a check-up they thought she looked great. They also told me they thought she stuck her bill through the wires on her run/aviary and scraped it coming back in. Maybe that's what happened to your duck.

I dont have any hookbill eggs in the incubator right now I am going to hatch some in the spring and sell them but I do have welsh harliquin eggs in the incubater they are the ones that are going to hatch right before christmas but I got my hookbills from holderread waterfowl farm he made a book called storys guide to raising ducks.
