Hello everyone! I have a bit of a conundrum with my flock. We raised 3 ducks from babies (pictured) who turned out to be all three females. they became adults but never started laying eggs. well now two of them have developed male feathers and one is actively changing colors on her face. I’ve heard of this happening and a quick google search says it’s a problem with their ovaries, but i am wondering if anyone has had this issue and kept the ducks? and if so, can they still breed? will they overrun the female? the female we have now was the runt of her last flock, and was so bullied she had to live with the chickens. she is just now starting to regrow feathers on her head, i don’t want her to be assaulted by the males. i’m at a loss for what to do since we did raise them and they are beautiful and sentimental, we don’t want to get rid of them. i’ve heard of castration for males, is that an option in this scenario? here are before and after pictures:
