Ducky DO'S & DON'TS

One of my girls has taken to flying over the electric net fence at me when she sees me coming (as long as my dog didn't come out with me)...she is such a brat!!! Was told she is a Welsh Harlequin when I bought her. She can't do much more than that though...she barely makes it over and brushed her webs on the fence every time .

lol.. my hub says Decoy Ducks don't fly.. I whacked him..

Guess who is getting Duckies in 2 weeks or less?
So I learned today that only 2 breeds are allowed to be sold at Rural King here anyway. BUT they have a really long list of ducks which may be ordered if we APPLIED for a permit from FWC.
Not sure if we will get what they can obtain w/o a permit or take a moment to register on a Government list.
So! Here I go.. web footed friends are finally coming..
I will update this thread instead of starting a new one.
Stay tuned..film at 11.

I took a photo of the LONG list of permit required ducks but it came out blurry. I should have snapped off a few pix to be safe...
We have to go back soon to the store soon anyway. I will bring my pocket camera this time.. v.s. my cell cam.
They will have Muscovy in a couple weeks. I forgot the name of the second breed..

What are you getting? Are you going to order or just get what rural king is allowed? I saw the ducklings at our rural king - so cute of course!

Ooh. I am considering muscovy. I am suprised FL will allow muscovy since they have issues with nuisance muscovy ducks.

I was overwhelmed with the grandson at the store so I may have quoted the wrong breed. He was trying to pet the chicks while I was talking to the clerk. So I will correct my posted breed if needed.
Thus the reason for the blurry photo of the list. I was babysitting/multitasking..

Muscovy are considered a nuisance, so i don't believe a store will sell them, However private breeders have sold them with no issue as long (from what i heard) you do not dump them into the wild. Dumping domestic ducks is where the fines come in. I might have to contact FWC to find out about the permit for domesticated ducks, i heard it is free so i might just apply in case.
