Well, it indicates some Ameraucana genes in there someone... You should expect some shade of green or blue... maybe even an olive color.

Good to know. Can you still get green/blue eggs without the green legs? My first EE is coming this week, and I'm curious to know what clues I can look for.

Basically, the best clue is whatever the egg color is when they start laying is the color you will get. I know that's not what you wanted to hear but it's easier to spell it out at the beginning. I bought an EE that was a sure blue egger (she said) but it lays lrg green eggs. Yeah, I was a little disappointed but we still love the green eggs. Bird color... again is no clue to egg color. One of my EE is orange and white and the other is a EE/ sussex mix (a lot bigger than the others) and she is white and black (just like a light brahma) they both lay the same shade of green egg although both eggs are different sizes.

Have you seen the posts regarding the meet up in Pomona on May 31st? Many keepers will be there and you can learn a lot talking to those crazy people. And it will be loads of fun! And you might find some good deals on chickens....

I have 4 EE's all had green legs and only 2 lay green eggs. But the other 2 lay nice large/ex large cream eggs and some days the one is a pinkish color. They are a few of my best layers. And my prettiest birds IMO
So I agree that you just never know until they lay!

Leg door has nothing to do with egg color. Look for a pea comb if you want blue eggs.

Leg door??? lol. I have 2 EE's both with pea combs, both lay green eggs... Sorry to be a Myth Buster... I am convinced that if you "buy" an EEer with a pea comb AND they said, no guaranteed, it will lay blue eggs, it won't lay blue eggs but if you are given one then you will get blue eggs.
