Easter Eggers

Hope someone on here can help me out a bit......This is Casper, he was a free "bonus" in my mcmurray order....Im fairly certain he is an EE since I cant find any other breed from McMurray that looks like him, plus his comb and legs look EE to me. I think his lack of a beard throws me off a bit. Just wanting a few more opinions. I am keeping him in my flock regardless of his breed, he is the biggest sweetheart and so pretty :) Should get some neat looking babies out of him....keeping my fingers crossed :)

He totally looks like an EE! I have them from McMurray as well, nice birds and pretty too! The girls are some of my best egg-layers, almost every day and BIG too! A pretty blue so far.

This was sold to my good friend and chicken breeder as a "Pure Ameraucana" out of the states.. I just bought her yesterday thinking she was an EE but her comb and very sparce supply of muff and beard make me confused... The other chicks she came with are clearly EE"s... She's around 20 weeks.. thoughts?

What ever else it is -- it is one of the prettiest chickens I have ever seen.......

What are the usual parents of and Easter Egger. I have 1 of them and have been curious about their genetics. Thanks! :yiipchick

I've honestly yet to see a blue egg that beats (in terms of intensity) peachick's Blue Wheatens/Wheatens. Now a true blue, as in sky blue vs robins egg blue, yes, I've seen better though.

A lot of breeders mix an amerucan and others to get a blueer egg than a pure one can produce a lot of time because that in a "pure" breed here in america it is a closed breeding there for rhwy in turn get inbred and by introducing other white OE blue ee you can get better color egg in return you strengthen it genetics

An Easter Egger is any mix of chickens that have blue or green egg laying genes. It really could be pretty much anything!

I do not know what she is. Is she lavender or blue? I'm not sure how to tell the difference, but she is lighter than my blue Amerecauna hen. She is BEAUTIFUL though, what color eggs is she laying?
