I understand your frustration Laughingdog. I have a problem at bit like yours....so if anyone has any ideas please feel free to post.
Every hatch I will have a frenzy of chicks popping out then it slows down a bit til 2 or 3 eggs are left. I wait til day 24 and still...there they set. During hatching everything runs as planned. Temp stays the same...humidity stays around 65 raising to average 78-80 while there are several wet chicks in the incubator. So...I can't see any potential problem during hatching.

When I do the eggtopsy the eggs are fully developed, no excess water, good air sac and size, but the chick is dead. This happens whether I use my hova or LG. So...does anyone have any ideas???

I would like to start hatching for people but want to get this issue worked out first. I also have 6 Crelle Polish coming in May and they where really costly...would like to end up with a full hatch.

I also have app. 34 silkie eggs to hatch on the 6th...anyone else hatching this week??

apparently, my manager of my appartment complex has drawn the line at donkeys and horses, as we were chatting this morn, and apparenty someone had left a pot bellied pig here when moved once, but im the first with hissing roaches, rooster (she just found out today about his hens, as i was talking about them saying ill bribe the neighbors with fresh eggs if it ever becomes trouble), and goats. but has to draw line at donkeys and horses, as i was joking about rumor spread that im getting a donkey... now i want a donkey! lol i could ride it and get around fact that cannot drive car cause of eyes, so was trying to argue it would be legal service animal. hahahaha

Even under the hen I've had full term fails. I think sometimes there are just issues and the chick isn't meant to be

I have a broody that started hatching chicks last night, and I have about 16 eggs in the bator due this weekend. I guess official lockdown is tomorrow.

well the hen had health and injury issues, so could explain deformation and groth disproportion of and in eggs. was a nice project though, and maybe ill get lucky with aat least one hen if not two or three, and pretty roos, sometime along in distant future.

As long as your still getting chicks to hatch you should be fine to hatch for people, as long as your not ridiculously pricing it. I get a guy to incubate my eggs for 3 a dozen, and he did 2 dozen for me, only 13 hatched and still payed 6. I sold them all and made a lil money to put gas in the truck

ETA: Also, I'm on the look for a new Easter Egger rooster, preferably one that came from a blue egg (hoping to keep my hens with the blue eggs next generation chicks have blue eggs) I'm mad at Percy Jr I got from a fellow bycer, he attacked my SLW roo and just bout killed him

and Little Roo is still young and has no spurs so he was fighting a losing battle. Anyway,

Stanglover...a friend of mine has rumpless aracaunas that I think she is selling. I am getting one roo to breed to my EEs for better egg color. She also has Lavender Americauna chicks...if she has roos she will get rid of them. She goes by BareBottomFarms here on BYC. Her name is Tracy..I think she is selling for $5 but don't quote me on that. She has several various kinds for sell and is going to cull them if they don't sell soon.

If you would like her number email me at [email protected] and I will give it to you.
I will keep racking my brain to see if I know of any others. All I have in the way of roos is OEs and one Blue Andalusian/Welsummer/EE. Here is a pic of him...he started out solid blue then slowly started getting this light red...is there a name for this coloration?? OH...am attaching pics of one of my OEs. I love the barring on it..hope it doesn't molt off.

Stang: I have two wheaten Ameraucas cockerels I hatched from pipsnpeeps (no pullets) and I'll have to find a home for one. I'll need him for a couple of weeks until the EEs I ordered from McMurray are old enough to go out with his brother to keep him warm. Also, I'm pretty sure one of the EE's is a boy, even though I ordered pullets. I just don't know what egg color he could contribute to the mix. His legs are slate. The EE is four weeks old. The Ameraucana is six weeks. If you're interested, I can post pictures.
