Figured I'd share my BLRW hen, gonna start incubating eggs to check for fertility. Can't wait to see the chicks off of her and the rooster I got.

Oh I want a pullet!! I think this breed is just beautiful! I also want a chocolate egg layer pullet. But I could make room for chicks.

Got 5 eggs in the bator, 4 BLRW and one Leghorn with BLRW roo. Will add 2 more once I get 2 more...

Took me forever to get those BLRW's!! I bought eggs and chicks and ended up with 3 roos and a hen. Then bought a breeding pair, sold all roosters (acctually gave them away) and have the 2 hens. Then bought unrelated rooster, now to see what the outcome will be, if the eggs are fertile. They won't be cheap chicks!

Hey all!!! Long time no type... sorry I have been away. I can't even begin to play catch up... you'll just have to let me know if I missed something amazing.

For one, are we still doing a butcher party? I got six hens less today than yesterday and now see how rooster heavy I really am. LOL

Also, on a simular note... I got Delaware pairs for sale on craigslist if anyone is interested. They are nothing special... all culls. Most of them are my line but one pair is Braden line. I'm getting out of actively breeding LF Dels and only keeping one breeding pair to finish out some egg orders then they will be sold too. My old Dels I will keep until they die of old age, though. They earned it.

I'm looking for SQ grey calls, though... if anyone has any. Also SFHs... preferably pairs or trios. Anyone breed SQ bantam barred rocks? I could use another female or two.

I hope you all are doing well... I'll be keeping up more, I promise!

I just got off the phone with the Tractor Supply store manager, here in Johnson City, and it seems they are going to have a chick day the end of Feb. or the 1st of March.

He doesn't have any idea what he will be getting or how much he will be getting.

I guess it will be the same for all stores in our area.

I would check with your local retail location if you are interested.

A friend of mine asked me to help a different friend find a Barred Rock or Dominique rooster to go with his 13 BR pullets. He's trying to find one in the Bristol, Kingsport, Johnson City, TN area or Abingdon, VA.

The gentleman can't travel very far...so that's why I'm posting in this thread. Hope somebody here can help find a rooster for this man.

Too bad... if you could make it to maybe the Dandridge area... I have one extra Barred Rock rooster... well, cockeral technically at 8 months old.

tnchickenut...maybe Dandridge will be ok. I'll contact the lady so she can ask the man that's seeking the rooster. I wish I had known earlier, my dh was doing several roof estimates in Dandridge yesterday. Oh well, that's how it goes.....

When will be the next time you're in Dandridge?--so I can let my friend pass that info along to the man?
