Egg bound??

It would be helpful to see it thawed out. Even if it isn't a "lash" egg, it's not normal and it's something to keep an eye on. It might just be yolk, egg white, and membranes without infection, but it could mean something is brewing. If the duck that laid that lays a normal one in the next few days then I doubt you need to worry.
That’s the thing....she lays a soft shelled egg daily and lays a hard shell once a week. I know she is new to laying so I have been letting her system get the kinks out, but after what she just laid, I’m thinking there maybe a problem.

I'll pray for both of you. :hugs If they don't suggest Baytril (enrofloxacin), ask them why they are prescribing wherever drug it is. Some vets won't prescribe Baytril because it's banned for use in poultry, but from what I know about treating this, it is the best drug to use.

While there, be sure to have them show you how to give the pills or shots. Also make note of her current weight and ask them about what to do it she doesn't start eating.

Will do! The past 2 hours she has perked up considerably, eating and drinking and talking. I had put nutra drench in her breakfast salad and she finally ate some of it. The avian vet thinks I can come in tomorrow instead of the emergency vet today, since she’s acting normal now. I will post tomorrow with a post vet update. Thank you so much! The prayers are heard.

Hi everybody!
So Quackers went to the vet today, and of course Cheese went with her...he almost hyperventilated and she did just fine!
Turns out the gross poo WAS an egg, vet thinks it’s been in there awhile. She does have an infection and inflammation so she is taking amoxicillin and Meloxicam, and I have to give her pro biotics and calcium gluconate as well.

I asked her about using baytril and she said she prefers the amoxicillin, I’m not sure why. She also sent a fecal to the lab, we should know on Monday or Tuesday if there’s parasitic issues as well. I told her we thought it was a lash egg and she didn’t know what that was, however she called it salpingitis.

Quackers has been herself since she got all that infection out, and seems normal. I’m glad I went to the vet tho, she says Quackers might never lay another egg but the anti inflammatory should really help.

If anyone knows a few tricks to get ducks to eat pills I’d love to hear them!

Thank you all for the concern and help and prayers!

That’s a great video! I might just try to stuff it down. The other pill is just a tiny thing, I can put it in a pea.
I thought maybe I could dust the amoxicillin on an earth worm, she goes crazy for worms, however, that’s a lot of worms! And of course Cheesy would want a worm too.
About the tomato idea, which is a great idea, however my ducks don’t like tomatoes. They are high maintenance. Quackers won’t eat peas that aren’t round.
We will see, wish me luck!
