Just genuinely curious…. I have a sage green egg layer hen and an ameraucana (ee) roo(his sibling lays blue eggs)… if I crossed them what color would the offsprings eggs be?

The sage egger female has 1 or 2 blue shell genes(there are only 2).
The EE male may have 0 or 1 or 2 blue shell genes.
The brown is from coating genes(there are a dozen or so).
Not sure of the exact percentage of chances to have blue or white shells with this cross.

The very basics of egg color:
There are only white and blue shells.
Brown eggs have brown coating on white shells.
Green eggs have brown coating on blue shells.
The brown coating can be very light or very dark, and can vary day to day.
Then the bloom can add another aspect to the egg color.
Pink/purplish eggs are usually from the bloom on a brown egg.
