Egg eating...

So, 2 of our chickens have been eating eggs. I have to rush out to the coop every time one of our girls lays an egg, to prevent it from getting eaten, and thats not really working for my schedule. Any advice to stop this?

What age and breed are they?

Roll out nest boxes. They are a nest box at a slight slant, so after the egg is layed it rolls down into an area where the hens can not reach.

The egg eaters are a Salmon Favorelle and a Buff Orpington, and they're about 6 or 7 months into laying. I feed them high protein feed (They have a picking problem) and a few treats. Hope this helps!

Picking problem....how many birds do you have and what is the size of your coop?

I also recommend roll away egg nest boxes. Eat eating is contagious, if the other hens witness it, they will do the same. Welcome to Backyard chickens.
