First of 12 Barnyard Surprises laid at 19 weeks. Others followed shortly.
Roosters is a Barnyard mix and the first to lay was a Production Black cross.
By 28 weeks, I was getting 9 eggs a day for 13 pullets.

5 Production Black or Australorp crosses
4 Dominique looking crosses
3 Production Red crosses

!!!!! My, that IS late! My cream legbars just started laying this week. They're about 30 weeks old. And the eggs, which were supposed to be blue, are green...
:th

I spent a while researching leg bar breeders, and ended up finding the best here on BYC. Every egg was blue, and he has done an incredible job with the color of eggs in his flock. Apparently in one of the Reese line imports there's some bloom in the genes that have led to a lot of green laying leg bars around.

I cannot believe the Opals aren't laying yet. Must have just been the timing of the sun. And at least they should start out laying bigger! One of the two I hatched is really growing a huge comb the last week or two, so it's GOT to be soon.
