Egg Song! Glorious Egg Song!

I have a question for everyone here....do your ladies normally sing their egg song AFTER they lay an egg? Because one of my barred rocks sings first and THEN gets down to the business of egg laying. I thought she wouldn't sing until after. She's kind of daffy lol

I have 1 that sings before, 1 that sings during and 1 that sings after. I have 3 that sing while others lay an egg. LOL

LOL - I have one that sings before, during AND after - she is definitely my complainer in the flock. I am sure the neighbors just *love* her, she managed to carry on for almost two hours today between the before, during and after singing and honk-squawking

That's funny ... My BR, Maude sings before, during, and after too.... Lol... She's not my complainer but my complainer and 1 of my BA joined in on the egg song today!! I just wish they would start laying. lol.

I wish our other 5 would start laying too. Only one BR is laying. They all are, now, 26 weeks old.

I have 3 out of 7 pullets laying & all 3 are the golden sex links. I'm really anxious for my EE to start laying - hoping she will lay blue eggs! One of my golden sex links, Sally, is my town crier. She is always checking out the hen house & if anyone is on the nests she does her egg song! Then when they do lay, she helps them sing! Really funny to watch her. Here are my girls 1st eggs -

My Ladybird was in the coop very early last evening.... She was making a fuss... Possible egg song. Her two roommates were not quite ready to call it a day.

Maybe, just maybe, we are getting close. :)

These girls are just now 20 weeks.

I love watching my chickens! They are so funny. Yesterday one of my barred rocks was on the nest singing so then the other two rocks decided they needed to join in. I was laughing like an idiot listening to them. It's my favorite sound during the day. My daughter, who is five, always runs around the yard yelling, "Mommy! The egg song! The egg song!" She's getting to be just as chicken crazy as I am.:D
