I wonder if they were fighting over the chicks? I've heard that can happen but have no experience with brooding hens.They were sitting together.
That’s the problem. Don’t kill the hen. Broody hens should be kept separate.They were sitting together.
Cooler is ok. Its probably just having a hard time compensating for the water in the sponge. Be careful it doesnt run dry you could have a temperature spike. Maybe get a dish of water that the sponge can sit in.Is 99.1 okay for a still air? I can’t seem to make it any warmer. Is cooler better than warmer for hatching?
