EMERGENCY HELP PLEASE!

I would raise the lamp so the temperature is 90 for the first week, and then have a cooler spot on one end. Next week lower it to 85 and so on. How big is ther brooder and how many chicks? You will need to increase the size very soon, and put a screen on top.

okay I definitely will do, and i have 5 chicks.

Okay, thank you. Is there anything else you would recommend for me doing this for the first time?
Just if they make it, no food other than chick starter for 8 weeks. No scratch till fall and winter. I only feed scratch in winter evenings to help keep them warm.

Leave them alone.
The crop should empty tonight.

If it's not empty by the morning let us know.

How old are your chick?
Please, don't feed them anything but chick feed anymore.
It's formulated to be a complete balanced diet.
Feeding them treats just takes away from the balanced diet.
So my chicks are still acting weird. There are two that are almost gasping for air, and keep scratching their necks. I dont know what to do at this point. They did make it through the night.

Can you take the shavings out and put paper towels down instead?

I want you to see if they are pooping.
Get clear photos if their poop.

What is the temp under the light?

We are out of paper towels because of the coronavirus situation. The temp under the light is 96 now. I will try to get a clear picture of their poop.

That is too hot, imo.
Can you use a towel?
