Exciting New Brinsea App Controlled Incubator - Testers Journey!

Pics
For those of you, like me, who do not have home wifi *gasp* yep, its 2024 and I dont have wifi, why am I testing a Brinsea Connect :idunno well, because I am getting a no-contract hot-spot to use for this test and future hatches! When I first saw the Brinsea Connect a few weeks ago on the Brinsea website, I though "wow, that's awesome, I would love that!" I love data 😁 but, no wifi!

So I am all about testing this thing out with a pay by the month wifi hot-spot in case there is anyone else out there, like me, who wants the data and the ability to always check in on the incubation, but doesn't have a permanent home internet solution 😃 I will be activating the hot-spot on Saturday when it arrives, then I will only have it in service during hatching months. Let's see how this goes!
I thought I was the last person without access to internet!
I didn’t know that a pay as you go hotspot was available. We broke down and got mobile Starlink. Yes, we like it.

:highfive: heck yeah, fellow hold out!

It's been fun checking in on the incubator, I'm not sure we'll keep the wifi though, probably stop it for a few months and turn it back on for next years hatching season.

@Debbie292d Dumb question time. What do you do with all the chicks you hatch? If you sell some, do you ship?
(I wanted to put this really cute emoji of someone putting their hands up like, whaaat, but I can’t find it. So if you would please try to imagine it here __ .)
That is not a dumb question at all!

I buy a lot of hatching eggs and those I keep to grow out. I keep one pair, or a rooster and two hens, then sell the rest. Of my own, I sell them. Next year, I'll keep a couple of my own.

We have a monthly Amish poultry swap I can go to sell but my best luck is in the poultry groups on Facebook. I post a picture of them and give my location.

I only ship eggs though, never have shipped chicks.

Thank you for replying!
Yes, shipping eggs is safer and better than shipping chicks. Never hurts to ask. Maybe I need an incubator😆
