Oh no, not close to first, these are last. We have 8 on the ground already. Oldest is 17, almost 18. Bit numb I guess yet, but not in a bad way. Just a bit of what the heck are we getting ourselves into.

Hi everybody!

I thought I would pop in to say hello to everyone on here. My husband and I are expecting our 2nd child around 10/21. We currently have a daughter that will be 2 in July. We have been TTC for about a year and a half, we started as soon as the doctor gave us the go ahead when my DD was 6 weeks because we had conception issues with her so we wanted to get started trying again right away. We are SO excited and I have my first ultrasound on April 6th. I have a strange feeling it might be twins but we'll see. LOL!

beautiful emu! Congrats!

Ya, I even called my dr yesterday cause I feel so terrible. Thank goodness it snowed like the dickens on wednesday cause I couldn't even move! Not to mention so hungry that I have almost thrown up a few times. My obgyn thought I needed to eat more, but then again she said that at no point in the pregnancy would I have to increase my caloric intake. (not that she ever even asked what I tend to eat in 1 day). She said more protein.

I feel you kelsey! I remember being this tired the week I found out I was pregnant...thought I had pneumonia!

Yesterday I was thinking that if I didn't know I was pregnant, I would think I had Mono. I was thinking I should maybe make steak for dinner and get some iron in me, maybe that would help?

Not too much longer Rcentner, we can do this, LOL!

I know exactly where you are coming from...It wasn't so long ago... I have 5 kids, and found out I was pregnant, again. I was so "worried" about how we were going to do this. But over the course of the pregnancy-which only lasted 16wks- I was getting excited. Now I wasn't having twins or anything, but just having another baby can be overwhelming. I miscarried at 16wks, but we are going to try again. I've been lurking on this forum in hopes we will be pregnant again. I'm not trying to be a downer or anything. It's just funny through the course of the pregnancy, you work through the emotions and look forward to having a new little one or two.

Do twins run in yours or his family? Is this your first set of twins? How exciting! You'll have to keep us posted on how everything is going. I don't know that I've ever known anyone that has had twins. Congratulations ChickenAlgebra!

I know, not too much longer here kelsey! I had my platelets tested yesterday cause I seem to be having a bit of a clotting issue. And I see my doc on monday afternoon so hopefully that comes out ok. I think I may be over reacting, but I wanted them checked anyway. I would hate to need a transfusion after labor.

I am ready to have this kid! I want to see him! It is so funny that at this point every time I feel wierd I think today could be the day! (I know we are to early, but I can't help but think that)

Last night my back hurt...so I naturally thought..omg..is this it? lol especially after my boss mentioned that an increased estrogen level can cause platelet issues and he says "oooo....maybe you're gonna go early" I didn't need him to say that! As long as we make it to 36 weeks, anytime after that is good for me.

Tired though....holy crap. I will have energy for an hour or 2 and then the rest of the day is shot.

oh and I found a maternity store last night and got a nursing bra. Glad I had someone help me cause I never would have known what size to get. Ended up with an F!!!! omg, that' s huge. problem is that I have a smaller frame so what I really needed was a 36 F and had to settle for a 38 F , but with all the hooks it fits good. I assume that when they are engorged and painful I will appreciate the extra room!

and kelsey - did I mention dizzy too?

You don't have to Lurk, feel free to join in, although I understand if it's hard while Trying to conceive. I really wish you luck, and send baby dust your way.

When I feel even more off than usual, I too wonder if today will be the day, even though I want him to bake a little longer. But I am part of a pregnancy after infertility group, and 3 of the last 4 baby's born were 31 weeks, 33 weeks, and another at 31 weeks, so I know it could happen. Today my back is killing me, and I can't help but think "This better not be the day", lol.

I have a little dizzyness, but more often I get blurry vision, I was worried about high blood pressure, but my blood pressure has been perfect all the way through, DR says pregnancy just effects my vision more than others.

Oh and I found out that if I go into labor before 36 weeks I have to go by Helicopter to another hospital 2 hours away, because our hospital isn't set up for preemies.

Congrats!!! On baby AND your anniversary!!

I would say most of your weight gain will be towards the end of your 2nd trimester and all through your 3rd, with the end being when you gain the most since that is when the baby really start putting on all that cute baby fat! Its important to make sure you eat enough and gain the right amount of weight. Remember- YOU arent gaining all the weight, your babies, breasts, uterus will be. You will gain a bit of the weight, some will be water weight and blood volume- not all mommy fat!! AND the really cool thing is you can expect to lose anywhere from ten to 20 pounds right on the delivery table!!! I lost 20 lbs the day I gave birth to my first child and went on to lose about 13 lbs with every baby after that on the day they were born. Then it takes about a year to drop the rest (for me at least!!)

Well, Thank you Kelseygirl707! It's not too hard...I mean, I've had five. I would think I can still have more. Before the miscarriage, my husband just looked at me, and I got pregnant. But this was my first miscarriage, so I'm not sure how that effects everything. My doc says to start trying...Gave me the go ahead. So, we'll see

But for now, it's just fun listening in, "enjoying" ,and remembering all of your joys and pains. I'll chime in when I have anything to add.

So, a little about me...
I have had 4 waterbirths at home with my midwife. Best thing I could have done. Awesome. If any of you have a chance, I highly recommend the water birth. You won't need an epidural. The hot water is like a liquid epidural. And so relaxing! Anyway, my 5th I had to have at the hospital because during labor I started to bleed more than my midwife and I thought was normal. My midwife felt that was the best thing to do. So, #5 was all natural. This is why I prefer the water

But now that I'm getting a little older, I think I'm going to go with my Doctor at the hospital. I'm just not as young as I used to be

I love to hear from you all. This is a great forum for all the first timers and second, third, forth...etc.
